š Because blogging shouldnāt feel like a mystery ā or a chore.
Letās get real: blogging is magical⦠andĀ sometimes totally overwhelming.Thereās the writing. The graphics. The SEO. The scheduling. And somewhere in between, youāre supposed to stay inspired, show up consistently, and grow your audience?
š Whew. Been there.
But once I started building a routineĀ around my blog, everything changed. No more last-minute scrambles. No more blank-page dread.Just a cozy, creative rhythm that fits into my week ā even on the messy ones.
In this post, Iām giving you a peek behind the curtain at exactly how I plan, write, and publish my blog posts. Iāll walk you through:
The tools I use
The time I set aside
My go-to tips for staying consistent (and still loving it)
So if youāve been trying to get into a blogging groove, grab a notebook or open your Canva dashboard ā weāre about to make things a wholeĀ lot easier.
š ļø The Tools That Keep Me on Track
Hereās whatās in my blogging toolkit (aka, my not-so-secret weapons):
š Canva
I use Canva for everythingĀ graphics-related ā blog post banners, Pinterest pins, Instagram carousels, email freebies, and more. Itās where I design once, then repurpose everywhere.
š Want blog-friendly Canva templates?š Check out my Etsy shop hereĀ for easy-to-edit designs you can use again and again.
š Notion
This is where I plan out my content calendar, organize ideas, keep track of keyword research, and store all my blogging brain-dumps.
š Google Calendar
I block out two main blogging sessions a week:
One for writing
One for editing, graphics, and scheduling
It keeps me accountable ā but still flexible.
š Grammarly
Because even when I write from the heart, I still want to catch those sneaky typos.
š Flodesk (or your fave email platform)
Blog + email go hand-in-hand for me. After I post, I write a quick email to my list to share whatās new (and link to a freebie or product!).
ā° My Blogging Schedule (That Doesnāt Take Over My Life)
My rhythm isnāt fancy ā but it works.
MONDAYS: Brainstorm & Outline
I sip coffee, scroll Pinterest, and jot down post ideas. Then I pick ONE and make a simple outline with:
A clear title
3ā5 subheadings
A call-to-action at the end
This keeps me focused and helps the post practically write itself later.
WEDNESDAYS: Write the Draft
This is my ācozy write day.ā I turn on music, light a candle, and just write. No overthinking. No editing. Just get the words out.
FRIDAYS: Edit, Design, and Schedule
Time to polish things up:
I edit the post (with Grammarly + fresh eyes)
Design the blog header and Pinterest pin in Canva
Schedule the post + newsletter
Pop it into my content calendar so I can repurpose it later!
š Thatās it! By the weekend, Iāve got one post live, a newsletter prepped, and content to pull from for socials.
š” My Top Blogging Tips (Especially If Youāre New)
1. Plan beforeĀ you write
Even a rough outline will save you time and make your post easier to follow.
2. Create a repeatable format
I use the same structure for every post: intro, value-packed sections, call-to-action. It builds trust andĀ saves me hours.
3. Batch your graphics
Design a few reusable templates in Canva ā so youāre not starting from scratch every single time.
4. Keep a list of post ideas
Every time inspiration strikes, drop it into your Notes app, Notion, or planner. That way, you always have a pool of ideas to pull from (even on brain-fog days).
5. Done is better than perfect
Donāt wait until your post is flawless. Publish it, learn from it, and grow. Perfection can come later ā right now, consistency wins.
