Hey, creative friend!
Thereâs something magical about a new month â fresh energy, new goals, and a blank canvas ready to be filled with color and creativity. This June, I poured all that sunny, spirited energy into my newest collection â and today, Iâm inviting you behind the scenes to see how it all came together in Canva! âď¸đ¨
Whether youâre a fellow designer, a scrapbook enthusiast, or just someone who loves digital art, I hope this inspires you to create something beautiful this season. Letâs dive in!
⨠The Inspiration Behind My June Collection
This collection was all about capturing the heart of early summer â that feeling of longer days, golden sunshine, fresh blooms, and slow, happy moments.
Hereâs what sparked the theme:
Sun-drenched florals đź
Lemonade stands & garden parties đ
Soft vintage textures
Touches of whimsy and warmth
I wanted the papers, embellishments, and templates to feel like a stroll through a wildflower field mixed with the charm of a handmade scrapbook.
đ¨ The Design Process in Canva
Step 1: Color Palette & Mood BoardI started by creating a mood board right in Canva. I uploaded inspirational photos, picked a dreamy summer palette (think butter yellow, sky blue, blush pink, and leafy green), and added fonts that matched the vibe â playful, light, and handwritten.
Step 2: Digital Paper DesignUsing Canvaâs seamless pattern tools and my favorite custom elements, I created layered textures that feel like hand-painted pages. Some feature florals, some vintage patterns, and others include subtle grids and linen textures.
Step 3: Embellishments & ClipartNext, I designed matching embellishments â think tags, journaling cards, stickers, washi strips, and more. Canvaâs drag-and-drop features made layering elements and creating themed sets so smooth.
Step 4: Template LayoutsFinally, I built a few Canva templates for Instagram, stories, and
Pinterest posts â perfect for content creators or shop owners who want to keep things seasonal and stylish with minimal effort.
All of these pieces were designed to work beautifully together â whether you're crafting, posting, or designing your next big idea.
