5 Easy Scrapbook Layouts for Valentine's Day Memories

Valentine's Day is all about celebrating love and connection, making it the perfect occasion to preserve your favorite memories in a scrapbook. Whether you're documenting a romantic date, a fun Galentine's celebration with friends, or sweet family moments, these five easy layouts will help you create beautiful pages without the stress.

1. Heart-Shaped Photo Collage

This classic layout puts your photos front and center in the shape of a heart. Start by selecting 5-7 photos and arrange them to form a heart shape on your page. You can use photos of various sizes to fill in the heart completely, or leave small gaps and fill them with heart-shaped embellishments.

What you'll need: Adhesive, scissors or paper trimmer, small heart stickers or die-cuts

Tips: Use a light pencil to sketch your heart outline before placing photos. Mix vertical and horizontal photos for visual interest. Add a simple title at the top like "All My Love" or the year.

2. Simple Grid with a Pop of Red

Sometimes the most elegant designs are the simplest. Create a clean grid layout with 4-6 photos arranged in neat rows and columns on a white or cream cardstock background. The key to this layout is adding one bold red element—whether it's a red cardstock mat behind one photo, red letter stickers for your title, or red washi tape borders.

What you'll need: White or cream cardstock, red accent paper or embellishments, adhesive

Tips: Leave equal spacing between all photos for a polished look. Choose one photo to be your focal point and make it slightly larger or add the red accent to draw the eye there.

3. Love Letter Pocket Page

Add an interactive element to your scrapbook with a pocket page that can hold love notes, ticket stubs, or other small memorabilia. Create a large pocket from patterned paper with hearts or romantic designs, attach it to your page, and tuck in your keepsakes along with 2-3 photos.

What you'll need: Patterned paper, adhesive, small envelope or DIY pocket, journaling cards

Tips: Decorate the pocket with stamps, stickers, or hand lettering. Include a journaling card where you can write about the memory or a special message. This layout works beautifully for preserving cards exchanged on Valentine's Day.

4. Photo Strip Timeline

Capture a special Valentine's Day from start to finish with a timeline layout. Arrange 4-6 photos in a horizontal or vertical strip across your page, showing the progression of your day. Add small captions beneath each photo noting the time or activity.

What you'll need: Photos trimmed to the same width, cardstock background, label maker or alphabet stickers

Tips: This layout works great for documenting a date night—getting ready, dinner, dessert, and coming home. Keep photos the same size for consistency. Use arrow embellishments or a drawn line to connect the photos and emphasize the timeline flow.

5. Split Page with His & Hers (or Yours & Mine)

Create a fun split design that showcases both sides of your Valentine's Day story. Divide your page down the middle with different but coordinating background papers on each side. On one side, feature photos and memorabilia from one person's perspective, and mirror it on the other side.

What you'll need: Two coordinating patterned papers, photos, adhesive, decorative tape or ribbon for the center divide

Tips: This works wonderfully for couples documenting how they each spent preparing for a surprise, or for showing "then and now" photos from different Valentine's Days. Use a ribbon or decorative tape down the center to create a clean division. Add small labels like "His Day" and "Her Day" or "Morning" and "Evening."

🌟 Final Thoughts

The beauty of scrapbooking is that there are no strict rules—these layouts are simply starting points to inspire your creativity. Feel free to adapt them to fit your photos, your style, and your story. The most important thing is preserving the memories that matter to you.

Quick tips for any Valentine's layout:

  • Stick to a color palette of reds, pinks, whites, and kraft tones for a cohesive look

  • Don't overcrowd your page—white space is your friend

  • Include journaling to capture the feelings and details you might forget

  • Have fun! Your memories deserve to be celebrated

Happy scrapbooking, and here's to preserving all those moments of love! 💕
