Whether you’re a Canva newbie or a seasoned pro, mastering keyboard shortcuts can seriously boost your design speed and efficiency. Instead of clicking around with your mouse, you can perform common tasks in just a second or two. Here are 10 essential Canva shortcuts that every digital creator should know — especially if you want to breeze through your summer projects!

1. Duplicate Elements — Ctrl/Cmd + D

Need a quick copy of an image, text box, or shape? Simply select the element and press Ctrl+D (Windows) or Cmd+D (Mac) to duplicate it instantly. No more copy-paste hassle! 2. Group Selected Elements — Ctrl/Cmd + G

When you want to move or resize multiple elements as one, select them all and hit Ctrl+G (Windows) or Cmd+G (Mac) to group them together.

3. Ungroup Elements — Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + G

Made a group but need to edit parts individually? Select the group and press Ctrl+Shift+G (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+G (Mac) to ungroup.

4. Undo Your Last Action — Ctrl/Cmd + Z

Oops! Made a mistake? No worries — hit Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Cmd+Z (Mac) to undo your last action instantly.

5. Redo Your Last Undo — Ctrl/Cmd + Y or Shift + Cmd + Z

Changed your mind about the undo? Press Ctrl+Y or Shift+Cmd+Z on Mac to redo what you just undid.

6. Zoom In/Out — Ctrl/Cmd + + / -

To zoom in or out of your design quickly, use Ctrl+Plus (+) to zoom in and Ctrl+Minus (-) to zoom out. On a Mac, use Cmd instead of Ctrl.

7. Bring Element Forward — Ctrl/Cmd + ]

If elements overlap, you can bring a selected element forward one layer by pressing Ctrl+] (Windows) or Cmd+] (Mac).

8. Send Element Backward — Ctrl/Cmd + [

Send an element backward one layer with Ctrl+[ (Windows) or Cmd+[ (Mac).

9. Bold Text — Ctrl/Cmd + B

Highlight your text and press Ctrl+B (Windows) or Cmd+B (Mac) to make it bold. Great for headings and emphasis!

10. Italicize Text — Ctrl/Cmd + I

Want to italicize? Highlight your text and press Ctrl+I (Windows) or Cmd+I (Mac) for a quick style change.

Bonus: Spacebar + Drag = Temporary Pan

Hold down the spacebar and drag your mouse to pan around your canvas without accidentally moving elements. Super helpful for navigating large designs!
